Bangkok, 1 April 2025 – Jim Thompson announces an exclusive collaboration with SARRAN, the Thai jewelry brand known for its exceptional design skills and craftsmanship, to launch its first jewelry collection. The Arun Collection presents customers with a completely new Jim Thompson experience, showcasing signature silks and its evolution beyond textiles into the world of handcrafted jewelry. Curated with SARRAN, a visionary brand renowned for art-to-wear masterpieces, this bold collection captures a modern artistic perspective on Thai culture, femininity, and self-expression—truly going Beyond Silk.
The exquisite collection features earrings, ear cuffs, and brooches that incorporate Jim Thompson's famous orange, gold, and blue color palette into delicate floral designs characteristic of SARRAN jewelry. Inspired by the plaster relief motifs and intricate ceramic tile decorations of the iconic Wat Arun temple, the collection embodies the feminine duality of "Strong yet delicate." This concept captures the interplay of light and shadow on the ancient monument, reflected in the varying patterns and textures of carefully selected fabrics. Through pleating, embroidery, and fabric layering, the silk transcends its role as textile to become the core of wearable art that honors Jim Thompson's heritage and design aesthetic.
The collaboration marks SARRAN's innovative exploration of silk fabric as a defining feature and new frontier in jewelry design. Traditional Thai methods of embroidery, silk-thread stitching, and fabric pleating were produced by local artisans. Each piece features hand-painted details and gemstone embellishments. The technique of “Ob Rum” was revived as an additional standout feature for the collection — an ancient method of scenting silk dating back to the Ayutthaya period to preserve its quality while adding a sensory dimension.

The earring sets feature flower petals crafted from intricate silk designs. Arun Flower Ear Cuffs come in three color variations, designed to balance structure and fluidity, elevated by the silk’s luminous tones.
